BETTYE JEAN BUSER Mrs. Bettye Buser of Port Washington formerly of Saukville and Franklin NC passed away early Friday morning August 22 2014 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was 80 years old. Bettye was born in Lincolnton NC on March 3 1934 daughter of Frank and Emma Lewis Helms. She attended local schools and graduated from Lincolnton High School. On August 2 1952 she was united in marriage with Leo Buser at Fort Bragg NC. The couple settled in Saukville and raised their family. Mrs. Buser worked as a saleswoman at Lueptow's Furniture in Port Washington. She retired in 1992 after 25 years on the job. Leo and Bettye then moved to Franklin NC and began enjoying their retirement. He preceded her in death in 2010 and Bettye moved back to Wisconsin in 2011. Mrs. Buser was an avid golfer gardener and grandmother. She was a great cook and also enjoyed bird watching making ceramic projects and hiking. Her favorite trail was The Greenway in Franklin where she and Leo spent many hours walking. Bettye is survived by her four sons: Anthony (Laura) Buser of Saukville Stewart (Cindy) Buser of Waterford Neal (Caroline) Buser also of Saukville and Donald (Karen) Buser of Port Washington. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren and three sisters: Gwendolyn Helms Pearl Helms and Phyllis (William) Hauley all of Lincolnton NC. Other survivors include nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo three brothers: Hal Frank Jr. Bob and three sisters: Hester Katherine Dorothy. Funeral Services will be held at 6PM on Tuesday August 26th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Rev. Linda Westphal-Buth will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-6PM. In lieu of flowers memorials will go towards The Greenway Franklin in her name.
