Betty Jane V. Krueger, age 88 passed away at Ivy Manor in West Bend on Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was born on November 7, 1928 in Kewaskum to Frank and Almeda (nee Senn) Krueger. Betty Jane graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1946 and went on to attend Downer College where she obtained a degree in foods and nutrition in 1951. Betty Jane was a resident of East Lansing Michigan where she worked at the University as a Dietician. After leaving Michigan Betty moved to a couple different places before settling down in Port Washington, Wisconsin. There she worked at the St. Mary Hospital as a Dietician before retiring in 1992. Betty enjoyed going to operas, traveling and was an avid reader. She was also an accomplished seamstress and could sew anything from doll clothes to bridal gowns. Betty made children's clothes and made her own clothing. She was a member of the American Dietician Association, Wisconsin and Michigan Dietician Associations. Betty Jane is survived by her brother Frank Krueger and sister Janette (Edgar) Loomis. She is further survived by 9 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great nieces and nephews as well as other relatives. Betty Jane is preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn (James) Komaromy and sister-in-law Mary Krueger. A Memorial Service for Betty Jane will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Peace United Church of Christ 343 1st Street Kewaskum, 53040 at 1:00 PM. Reverend Eric Kirkegaard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. Interment to be held at Peace UCC Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the church scholarship fund. Betty Jane's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Ivy Manor in West Bend and the Serenity Hospice team for all the care and compassion they provided Betty Jane.
