Mrs. Betty Jane Fickler Mrs. Betty Jane Fickler of Harbor Village in Port Washington passed away at her residence on Monday evening March 26 2007. She was 86 years old. Betty was born in Milwaukee on January 27 1921 the daughter of Rollie and Corinne Jackson Sickels. Betty was united in marriage with Philip B. Rhodes. He preceded her in death in 1951. On November 26 1954 she was united in marriage with Wilbert W. Fickler. The couple lived in Wauwatosa and Milwaukee. After forty loving years together he preceded her in death in 1995 and Mrs. Fickler moved to Port Washington in 2006 to be closer to her family members. Betty was born the eleventh of thirteen children. She loved to sew and made many outfits children as well as wedding dresses and veils. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially birthday cakes and cookies. Betty was a babysitter-extraordinare and helped many of her nieces nephews grand-nieces and grand-nephews when it came to looking after their children. She also enjoyed playing cards was a member of various card clubs and the Senior Theatre Club in Milwaukee. She is survived by 1 sister Verdell (Jim) DeYarman of Milwaukee sisters-in-law Lillian Fischer of Monona Lillian Fickler of Oregon Ann Sickels of Milwaukee numerous nieces nephews grand-nieces grand-nephews great-nieces great-nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Philip B. Rhodes her second husband Wilbert W. Fickler and eleven brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held for Betty on April 21 11 AM at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church 505 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Pastor David Guse will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
