Betty Mae Hamernick passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. She was 99 years old.

Betty was born on August 9, 1926, in Lark, North Dakota to parents Millard and Trena (nee Booth) Barrett. She was united in marriage with Raphael Hamernick on May 10, 1945. Together they raised three children.

Betty is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Wayne) King, grandchildren Shannon (James) Baker, Rachel (Brian) Jones, Brenda (Peanut) Bunker, and Jeff (Barb) Hamernick, 8 great-grandchildren Christian, Emma, Madison, London, Sydney, Kevin, Billy Ray, and Cassidy, and 6 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raphael, sons Lawrence and Daniel, brother Earl, and sister Neva.

A service for Betty will be held at 3:30PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belgium, WI (200 Park Street Belgium, WI 53004). The family will greet guests from 3:00PM until the time of the service at 3:30PM.

In the spring she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
