Obituary

Betty L. Fairbert, age 94 of Fredonia WI, died at her residence surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025.

She was born in Wittenberg, WI on August 4, 1930, the daughter of Harold and Alma Kusserow.

She married the love of her life, Gordon Fairbert, on September 4, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. Both were educators until she decided to stay at home, and together they raised three children. They moved to Fredonia in 1967 and were a huge part of the community as well as their church, St. John's Lutheran Church in Fredonia. After the passing of her husband in 2005, she continued to stay active in the church, the Lioness Club, and any other volunteer work that was asked of her. She was a great cook, animal lover, and sports nut, with the Brewers being her most cherished team. Her late husband always said he was the luckiest man alive because he had a wife who was not only a great cook, but also a huge sports fan. They went to many sporting events and tailgated for years. They loved camping, dancing, and had a group of wonderful friends who they enjoyed spending time golfing, playing cards, and traveling with. She loved her family unconditionally and was happiest at her home with them all around having bonfires and cookouts. Most people who knew her would describe her as kind, caring, generous, and gentle. This world has truly lost an amazing soul, and she will be missed beyond words.

Betty is survived by her son Randy Fairbert of Fredonia, two daughters, Laurie Daggett of Fredonia and Lisa (Mark) Barrows of Fredonia. She is further survived by her loving grandchildren, Tracy (Sarah) Daggett of Port Washington, Ashley Daggett of Fredonia, and Johnny (Lauralyn) Daggett of Port Washington. She had five great grandchildren, Talan Daggett of Saukville, Brayden Daggett of Fredonia, Easton Balliew of Fredonia, Brooks Gordon Daggett of Port Washington, and the newest addition born January 24, 2025, "Betty" Daggett of Port Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Nancy.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 14, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave, Fredonia, WI 53021. Pastor Frisque will preside. The family will receive visitors from 11AM until the time of the service at noon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Fredonia.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of Aurora Hospice and Dr. Scott Wilfong. Dr. Wilfong was always willing to listen and spent so much time with her understanding the care she needed. A special thanks to Pastor Frisque for his ability to make her shine and for the wonderful attention he gave to her and our family.
