BASIL HERMAN TANNEL Buz Mr. Basil Tannel of Barry Avenue in Port Washington passed away at Columbia-St. Mary's Ozaukee Campus in Mequon on Friday December 8 2006. He had just celebrated his 78th birthday. Basil was born in Milwaukee on December 7 1928 son of Basil V. and Inez Viola Tannel. He graduated from Marquette High School and Marquette University earning his BS in Chemisrty. Buz was united in marriage with Emily Lukas on November 26th 1955 in Chicago IL. The couple raised five children together. Mr. Tannel had most recently been employed doing research for Freeman Chemical in Port Washington. He retired in 1975. A member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church Buz was a man of faith. He lived what he believed and set a good example for his children and grandchildren. In his younger days Mr. Tannel had athletic prowess and enjoyed golfing bowling was very mechanically inclined. He loved playing cards until the end. He was loved and respected by his entire family. Buz is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Emily their children: Mary Bryan Fort Worth TX Gregory Kersey CO Vincent (Annette) Greeley CO and Mike (Susan) of Cudahy. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren 1 great-grandson his sister Louanne Shogren Tuscon AZ nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Richard his brother Clarence and his grandson Aaron. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday December 12th . 11AM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church South N44 W6055 Hamilton Rd. Cedarburg. Father Mike Lightner will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
