Obituary

Barbara “Barb” Lynn Polack, age 83, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026. Barb was born to Arthur and Doris (Dahlke) Konrad on June 8, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Cedarburg High School in 1961. Barb married the love of her life, Helmuth “Hal” Polack, on February 1, 1964, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. The couple had two sons together, Todd and Timothy Polack.

Above all else, Barb lived for her family. Her family guided her entire life. Her sons and their families never doubted for a moment that Barb was always there for them. Barb shared a special and loving bond with her sons. They shared a love of good food, drinks, and simply being together. Moments together were the things Barb enjoyed most.

Barb had a special place in her heart for her five grandchildren and treasured every moment she spent with them. She was always proud of their accomplishments and loved watching them grow into the people they are. Memories are many, and she is at the heart of all of them.

Her sisters, Doreen and Cindy, were always in her heart and often on her phone. Every day, without fail, you could find Barb with her sisters at a local restaurant for lunch. It was a cherished daily tradition that brought the sisters, other family members, and friends together to share a meal, daily gossip, laughter, and time with one another.

Barb’s radiant personality was reflected in the things she loved most. She had a special love for flowers, gardening with her husband, and shopping. Barb had a keen eye for style and took pride in always looking her best. She brought her own sense of beauty and grace to everyone whose lives she touched and everything she did.

Survivors include her sons Todd Polack (Lisa) of Grafton, Wisconsin, and Timothy (Claudia) Polack of De Pere, Wisconsin; and her five grandchildren, Maxwell (Lauren), Madison, Jaden (Amanda), Josie, and Justin Polack. She is further survived by her sister, Doreen Wirth; her sister, Cindy Hilsberg and brother-in-law, Thomas “Tom” Hilsberg. She is also survived by her niece, Melinda Wirth; her niece, Heidi Wirth (Shane) and great-nieces Gladys and Winifred McAdams; her nephew Konrad (Michelle) Hilsberg and great-nieces Ella and Lyla Hilsberg; and her niece Gretchen Simmons (Tony) and great-nieces Emma and Ava and great-nephew Jacob Simmons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Helmuth Polack; her parents, Arthur and Doris Konrad; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erich and Emilie Polack; and her brother-in-law, Gustav “Sandy” Wirth.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21st, at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Intensive Care Unit at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the compassionate care and support they provided during this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
