Barbara Petersen Mrs. Barbara M. Petersen (nee Cook) formerly Zelenak of Fredonia passed away Thursday afternoon May 12 2011 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 71 years old. Barbara was born July 19 1939 in Wauwatosa the daughter of Arthur and Henrietta Alstadt Cook. She was employed as an activity director at Mequon Care Center and later at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. On April 14 1973 she was united in marriage with Donald Petersen. Besides her family Barbara's greatest fun was finding a bargain. She will be missed dearly by her family. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Donald and her children Marie (Bruce) Johnson Warren (Debbie) Zelenak and Mark (Donna) Zelenak. She is further survived by her grandchildren Clinton Noel Willie and Hayley 10 great-grandchildren sister-in-law Rosie Pfaller father of her children Casey (Bev) Zelenak and Barbara's beloved dog Goldie. According to Barbara's wishes no services will be held. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
