IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara N.
Liebnow
December 25, 1937 – October 14, 2022
Mrs. Barb Liebnow of Port Washington passed away early Friday morning, October 14, 2022, at Harbor Campus in Port Washington. She was 84 years old.
Barbara was born on December 25, 1937, in Milwaukee, daughter of John and Lillian (nee Meka) Barcz. She attended local schools and graduated from Pulaski High School, Class of 1955.
Shortly after graduation, Barb was introduced to Jim Liebnow through a mutual acquaintance. Barbara and James were united in marriage on September 13, 1958, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Milwaukee. The couple settled in Milwaukee and began their family. They moved to Port Washington in 1970 and Jim served as Pastor at First Congregational Church; while she wasn't employed by the church, Barb served beside her husband, wearing all the hats of a Pastor's wife. Jim preceded Barb in death in 2001.
Mrs. Liebnow was a longtime member of First Congregational Church in Port Washington and was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and gardening. Barb loved being outdoors and was always up to for a drive look at the scenery, especially in fall. She enjoyed socializing with her neighbors and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Gennine Flack of Port Washington and Renee (Steve Calhoun) Liebnow of Maryland, grandchildren Cassandra and Cameron Calhoun, Jessica (Josh) Steinmetz and Nathan (fiancée Genesis Augustine – Garcia). She is further survived by sister Judy (James) Springstein, brother-in-law Larry Ofner, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Barb is preceded in death by her husband Rev. James Liebnow, sister Virginia Ofner, and her parents John & Lillian.
Funeral Services for Barb will be held at 5PM on Friday, October 21st, at First Congregational Church, 131 N. Webster St., Port Washington. Pastor Scott McLeod will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Friday from 4PM until services at 5PM.
