BARBARA J. PAAPE Mrs. Barbara Paape of Fredonia formerly of Belgium passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 24th 2014 following a brief illness while surrounded by her family. She was 78 years old. Barbara was born on March 20 1936 in Chilton daughter of James and Ida Ness Toth. She attended local schools and graduated from Chilton High School Class of 1954. On December 28 1955 she was united in marriage with Floyd Paape at St. Martins Lutheran Church in Chilton. The couple settled in Milwaukee before moving to Belgium in 1967. Barbara worked as a hair stylist for almost 60 years most recently at Kate's Hair Design in Port Washington. She and Floyd moved to Waubeka in 2002. He preceded her in death in 2010 and she later moved to Fredonia. Mrs. Paape was a founding member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Belgium and was also a member of the American Legion Post 412 Auxiliary in Belgium and VFW Post 5373 Auxiliary in Port Washington. She enjoyed bowling socializing crocheting reading and cooking for her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by five children: Pam (Daniel) Deppiesse of Fredonia Kathleen (Wally) Rassel of West Bend Bryon (Jean) Paape of Muskego Bruce (Debbie) Paape and Jennifer (Pat) Gannon both of Waubeka 13 grandchildren: Eric (Carla) Deppiesse Sara (Casey) Bobay Matthew Rassel Emily (Seth) Steffen Natalie Paape Joshua Alexa Paape Alea Danny Gannon Tracy Aubry David (Stephanie) Theeke Amanda Avery Larson and 2 great-grandchildren: Beckham Bobay and Josie Steffen. She is further survived by 3 sisters: Lois (Earl) Pruitt-Fluhr of Illinois Alice Heuvelmans and Frieda Paape both of West DePere nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents husband Floyd son Jim Paape and step-children David and Patricia Paape. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday June 29th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium. Pastor Wayne King will preside. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in St. Paul's Cemetery Waubeka. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-3:30 PM. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Belgium or The American Cancer Society.
