Barbara D.
Dieringer
October 25, 1937 – May 3, 2024
Barbara Dieringer, of Fredonia, formerly of Belgium, passed away in the evening hours of Friday, May 3, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old.
Barbara was born in Sheboygan on October 25, 1937, the daughter of Jerome and Florence (nee Dumann) Breitzman. She grew up in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School with the class of 1955.
On August 17, 1957, she married Thomas Dieringer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. The couple ran the family dairy farm in Belgium. Barbara dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, finding joy in nurturing her six children. She took immense pride in managing their home and supporting her husband on the farm. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, Yahtzee, bowling, going to rummage sales, and spending hours doing cross-stitch. Barbara's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she could often be found at events for her beloved grandchildren. Her warm presence, kind spirit, and her witty sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her children, Gary (Leann) Dieringer of Belgium, Thomas (Dee) Dieringer of Batavia, Jeffrey (Brenda) Dieringer of Dacada, Scott (Donna) Dieringer of Port Washington, Brian (Bonnie) Dieringer of Fredonia, and Jodi (David) Mueller of Fredonia. She is further survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), brothers-in-law Andrew and James Dieringer, sisters-in-law Betty Grant and Phyllis Stemper, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, her great-grandson Buckley Ritzel, her sister Lynn Young and brother Robert Breitzman.
Visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 3-5 PM followed by the funeral service at 5 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 Park St., Belgium.
Pastor Paul Scheunemann will preside over the funeral service.
