Obituary

Barbara "Barb" J. Aagerup, of Fredonia, went to be with the lord on the morning of Saturday, July 13, 2024. She was 90 years old.

She was born November 1, 1933, to the late Edward and Mary (Hoffmann) Runkel. On May 21, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Harold F. Aagerup, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. In 1956 the couple settled in Port Washington and started their family.

Barbara's dedication to nursing was unmatched, and she took great pride in her work, touching the lives of many with her caring nature. In her leisure time, she found joy in doing crossword puzzles and playing dominos. She enjoyed spending time with her family on the boat at Lake Namakagon. Her love for animals was evident in her trips up North, as she never hesitated to feed the wildlife.

She was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She cherished annual shopping trips with her sisters, daughter-in-law Lisa Aagerup, and her daughter Lori, creating precious memories that will be treasured forever. Barbara was an active member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, where her faith and community involvement were so important to her.  She attended church every Sunday.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Michael Aagerup; her daughter-in-law Lisa Aagerup, her son-in-law, Scott Kartheiser, her grandchildren; Clayton (Brittany), Cody (Hunter), Claire Kartheiser, Julie Kartheiser, Casey (Jordan), great grandchildren; Ariana and Sophia, along with her sisters Jeanne, Judy and JoAnn, and her brother Bob, along with many other dear friends and relatives.

Welcoming her at the gates of heaven were here parents, her husband Harold who preceded her in death in 2014, her daughter Lori Kartheiser who preceded her in death in 2021, her sister Holly and her brother Allen.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 505 West Grand Ave, Port Washington. The family will greet friends and relatives at the CHURCH from 2:00 PM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.

The family would like to thank the staff at Forest Haven in Fredonia for their excellent care and compassion with Barb over the last four years.
