Arthur M. Gutekunst of Mequon passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 93. He was born to Nicholas and Alice Gutekunst in Milwaukee on June 9, 1926. Arthur married Carol Wolfgram on September 3, 1955 and together they have four children. Arthur served his country in the United States Navy Corps during WWII. He was hard working and the definition of American ingenuity. Arthur was quick to lend a hand to anyone who asked and enjoyed tinkering with anything that needed fixing. In his early years, he was an avid dancer and loved polka music. In his later years, he loved spending time with family and friends up north in Forest County. Arthur is survived by his wife Carol of 64 years, his children Mark (Lynn) Alan, Michelle Mayer and Maria (Roy) Carrera, grandchildren, Jeffery (Jessica) Mayer, Lilia, Senna, Eva (Carrera), and great-granddaughter Jerralynn Mayer. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Arthur Gutekunst and his sister Alice. A Memorial Service for Arthur will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Freistadt (10729 W. Freistadt Rd. Mequon, WI 53097). Visitation will be at the church from 12:30PM until the time of service at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County or Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistadt.
