Obituary

Mr. Arnold R. Miller Arnold Miller of Linden St. in Saukville passed away early Monday morning January 12 2009 at the Vitas Hospice Care Center in Wauwatosa. He was 89 years old. Arnold was born September 22 1919 in Plainview Minnesota to Rudolph and Clara Carpenter Miller. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1941 to 1945. On March 12 1942 he was united in marriage to Elaine Langlais in Dubuque Iowa. Mr. Miller worked as a carpenter at JP Jansen in Milwaukee and Gahan Construction in Port Washington each for over 20 years. He also served as the Saukville Building Inspector for 29 years. Arnold was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Saukville. He belonged to Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 and had previously belonged to the Carpenters Union Local #2283. Long after retirement he continued to enjoy woodworking as a hobby as well as fishing bowling dinner theatres and traveling with his wife Elaine. He was a dedicated card club member playing sheepshead twice a week with close friends. Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Elaine and their two children Connie Miller and Renersquo; (Don) Didier both of Saukville. He is further survived by his two grandchildren: Nicole (Michael) Scharf and Nathan Didier four great-grandchildren: Ryen Logan Jordan and Colton Scharf three brothers: Ralph (June) Miller of Plymouth Leonard (Carol) Miller of South Milwaukee Clarence Miller of Port Washington three sisters: Irene (Robert) Dushenski of Oshkosh Grace Melichar and Clara Newmann both of Port Washington one brother-in-law Keith (Nancy) Langlais of AZ one sister-in-law Juanita Miller of West Bend nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers Paul and Donald and two sisters Ruth and Emily. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Jan. 16th 7PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville preceded by family rites at 6:15PM at The Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Father Karl Acker will officiate. Burial will full military honors will take place at St. Maryrsquo;s Cemetery Saukville. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home from 3:00-6:15PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to charity of choice.
