Obituary

Mr. Arnold F. Kraus of Port Washington passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 80 years old. Arnold was born in Milwaukee on April 27, 1941, son of Arnold J. and Eleanor Lanser Kraus, who along with his step-mother Adeline Kraus, predeceased him. The family lived in the Town of Saukville and Port Washington and Arnold attended local schools, graduating from Port Washington High School, Class of 1960. On January 26, 1963, he was united in marriage with Rosalie Skelton in Port Washington. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family. She preceded him in death. Mr. Kraus worked as a quality control inspector for American Can Company for over 30 years. After he retired, he took on a position with the Milwaukee Journal in the circulation department. Arnold was a member of St. John XXIII Parish in Port Washington. He enjoyed playing softball and played in a local senior league. He also enjoyed bowling, collecting stamps and coins, and the occasional trip to the casino. An avid reader, Arnold read several newspapers every day. Arnold loved animals and usually had a dog or cat to keep him company. Those left to cherish his memory include his son Jeffrey (Huajun Lyu) Kraus of Madison, daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Brikowski of Stoughton, and loving companion Patricia Houston of Port Washington. He is further survived by five grandchildren: Holly, Emmy & Taylor Brikowski, Haoming Li and Karley Tomkins, brothers Ronald Kraus of Longmeadow, MA and Terry (SueAnn Kultgen) Kraus of Fitchburg, nephews Ben (Anna) Kraus and Aaron (Jennifer Haffner) Kraus, aunts Betty, Sandy and Joan Lanser, other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Fr. Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 2PM until service at 4PM. Arnold will be laid to rest beside his family in St. Mary's Cemetery - Saukville at a later date. With everyone's health and safety in mind, those attending the visitation or memorial service are asked to wear a mask. If desired, memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee Humane Society in Arnold's name, in lieu of flowers.
