Arline G. Lubner Arline Lubner of Cedarburg went to her Heavenly Home on Friday November 25 2011. She passed away surrounded by her loving family at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon at the age of 86. Arline was born in Mequon on February 28 1925 daughter of William Koehler and Florence Gruenewald Koehler. Arline was an avid baseball player and played baseball after high school for the Coffee Pot Kids. She was later inducted into the Women's American Baseball League. Arline and her first husband Fritz Scherf owned and operated a pet store in downtown Cedarburg. The shop held many interesting animals including a monkey named Clarabelle. The shop drew many children who came mostly to visit the animals and Arline. She loved the children! Starting in 1963 Arline enjoyed breeding dogs mostly schnauzers and poodles. After closing the pet store she opened a dog grooming business in Cedarburg called Styling By Arline which she ran for over 30 years. On November 6 1981 she married Alfred Buddy Lubner. After she retired her and Buddy enjoyed dancing and going on camping excursions in their Hi-Lo camper. They traveled throughout the Midwest with their dog Tiki meeting their friends from the Hi-Way Loafers and the Hi-Lo Friends. Arline was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg the Cedarburg American Legion Auxiliary Post 288 and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her husband Alfred of Cedarburg son James (Pat Buhrow) of Cedarburg her daughter Donna Hertzburg of Hawaii and step-children Thomas (Kathy) Lubner of Grafton and Kathy (Troy Stuart) Lubner of Waubeka. She is further survived by eight grandchildren eight great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers Harold Koehler Mike (the late Adeline) Koehler Al Koehler Fritz (the late Ruthie) Koehler and her sister Ruby (the late Carl) Wilhelme. Memorial services for Arline will be held on Friday December 2 2011 at 6 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. Pastor John Norquist of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate. A time of Gathering will be held on Friday December 2nd at the funeral home from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation or the Cedarburg American Legion Auxiliary Post 288. The Eernisse Funeral Home Cedarburg is assisting the family.
