Obituary

Mrs. Arlene Patek formerly of Wauwatosa passed away Friday evening January 16 2015 at Alexian Village Square where she had been residing for the last ten years. She was 83 years old. Arlene was born in Milwaukee on February 6 1931 daughter of Frederick and Agnes Prochniewski Kasten. She attended local schools graduating from St. John's Cathedral High School in 1949. On June 13 1953 Arlene was united in marriage with John L. Patek at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple settled in the area and raised four children. He preceded her in death September 23 1994. Mrs. Patek was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wauwatosa where she had been very active with the Altar Guild and the sewing circle and had also been a member of the Senior Center of Wauwatosa. In her younger days she enjoyed gardening and has always enjoyed traveling. While at Alexian Village Arlene has been a member of the Senior Choir and has enjoyed going to the many different religious services offered there. Above all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Arlene is survived by a daughter Cristine (William) Kinsley of Green Bay and three sons: John (Nancy) Patek of Chicago IL Richard (Barbara) Patek of Cedarburg and David (Catherine) Patek of Whitefish Bay. She is further survived by nine grandchildren: Steven Jeffrey Kinsley Caroline Joseph (Stephanie) Michael (Caitlin) Victoria Matthew Bryan and Julia Patek brother Fred (Judy) Kasten of West Bend nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday January 21st at Alexian Village Chapel 9301 N. 76th Street Milwaukee. Fr. Joe will preside the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee that afternoon. The family will receive visitors at Alexian Village Chapel on Wednesday from 10-11AM. If desired memorials are suggested to St. Bernard Parish or Alexian Village of Milwaukee.
