Anne Marie Gierach passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 73. Anne Marie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on January 8, 1945 to Wilmer and Anne Mixdorf. Her family moved to the Cedarburg area where she spent most of her childhood. Anne Marie was a 1963 graduate of Cedarburg High School. During her time in high school, she enjoyed participating in the Mercury Thunderbolts Drum and Bugle Corps. Her love of music continued throughout her adulthood. She played for the Madison Symphony while attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison and later went on to the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater obtaining a degree in teaching. Anne Marie played the piano and clarinet and was also a very active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in West Bend, where she sang in the church choir and assisted with bible class. Her love of music even carried over into dance as she was a proud member of the D'Oberlandler Bavarian Dance Group for 25 years. Anne Marie and her husband Orville shared 30 loving years together and both enjoyed spending time attending Orville's granddaughters school music concerts. Anne Marie is survived by her husband Orville Gierach, step-daughters Angela Gierach and Cheryl Wolfgram, granddaughters Amanda Wolfgram, Hannah Thom, Erin Thom, 1 brother, sister Gail (Morris) Hes, nieces and nephews Niccole McCormick, Douglas (Amanda Hes, Heather (Ron) Alexander, Matthew Hes and Jeremy Hes. Anne Marie is further survived by many friends. A Funeral Service will take place at Pilgrim Lutheran Church 462 Meadowbrook Drive West Bend, WI 53090 on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Pastor Raffa and Pastor Fisher will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or the family are appreciated. Anne Marie will be laid to rest at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
