Obituary

Mrs. Anna Lanser, a lifelong resident of Port Washington, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Lincoln Village where she had been a resident. She was 89 years old. Anna Christina (Becker) Lanser was born on July 27, 1930 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elmer Peter and Margaret Anna (Lorge) Becker. She was raised in their family home at 118 East Woodruff Street. In 1948 she graduated Salutatorian from Port Washington High School. On May 13, 1950 Anna married Gregory Nicholas Lanser at St. Mary's Church in Port Washington. Greg and Anna began raising their family at 116 East Woodruff Street until they built their family home a few doors away at 136 East Woodruff Street. Even though Anna has made her home at Lincoln Village for the past couple years, the house on Woodruff Street remains the family home. Anna was a lifetime active member of St. Mary's Parish (St. John XXIII). She was a member of the Christian Women, a church greeter, a volunteer and contributed in numerous ways to many church social functions. Anna enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of several Bridge Clubs, she also enjoyed playing Sheepshead, bowling, playing bingo, and going to the casino. Anna also enjoyed doing ceramics. She hand-painted plates for her grandchildren, as well as ceramic Easter Eggs, angels and other mementos for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna also liked to travel and spend time with her husband and family at their cabin on Cranberry Lake in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Above all, Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love and dedication to her family was selfless and unconditional. She always put her family and their needs above her own. The decision and commitment to be a mother was one Anna did not take lightly, her life was spent pursuing the well-being and happiness of her children. She had a very strong faith in God and unwavering devotion to the Blessed Mother. A very humble and Christian woman always serving the Lord. "Well done, good and faithful Servant". Anna is survived by her loving children, Daniel (Cheryl) Lanser, Christine (Keith) Rismeyer, Suzanne (David) Kleckner, Joel (Peggy) Lanser, Margaret Jacobson, Therese (Daniel) Dallgas, Gerard Lanser (Elkim Beck), James Lanser; Grandchildren, Darcy (Travis) Norberg, Amanda (Ryan) Yoho, Jared Lanser, Michelle (Donny) Neumann, Eric (Rory) Rismeyer, Julie (Ben) Gerds, Kurt (Jen) Kleckner, Jessica (Curt) Pierson, Cortney (Josh) Borden, Ryan and Erik Nierode, Nicolas and Brianna Dallgas, Tanner (Rebecca) Welch. Great-grandchildren, Lucas, Gavin, Jack, Benjamin, Evelyn Anna, Jase, Tyler, Calvin, Sophie, Norah, Ethan, Hailey, Cole, Cade, Colton, Anna is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Caryl Becker, Joan Lanser, Sandy Lanser and Betty Lanser, as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Anna is preceded in death by her husband Greg in 1996; infant daughter, RoseAnn; her parents, Elmer and Margaret Becker; brother, George (Ruth) Becker, Harold (Rosemarie) Becker, Jack Becker, and son-in-law, Tom "Jake" Jacobson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 pm Friday February 21st with visitation from 3-5:45 pm at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary's Church, 451 Johnson St., Port Washington. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the St. John XXIII Organ Maintenance Fund. A sincere thanks to Dr. Celestino Perez for the outstanding care and concern shown to our mother over the years. We would also like to thank the staff and residents at Lincoln Village Assisted Living and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and friendship shown to our mother over the past few years.
