Obituary

ANDREW I. SCHAFFER "DREW"

Taken too soon from this world, Drew Schaffer of Port Washington passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 6, 2025. He was 28 years old.

Andrew was born in Milwaukee on May 18, 1997, the son of Eunice Schaffer and Douglas Lemmer, Sr. . Drew moved with his father to Port Washington as a young child and attended local schools, graduating from Port Washington High School in 2016. He continued his education at MATC and earned his associate's degree in automotive technology, later working as a mechanic at Jimmy B's.

An avid sportsman, Drew could either be found on the water or in the woods. With a lifelong passion for fishing, he was very active in the fishing community of Port Washington, where he was affectionately known as "Squeaky". From helping younger kids fish at Coal Dock Park to becoming the first mate aboard Ninja Charters, he loved fishing and everything about it, and was currently studying to obtain his charter captain's license with the goal of running his own charter boat one day. When he wasn't on the water, Drew enjoyed hunting, especially quail, deer, and turkey. He was truly a country boy at heart, who just happened to grow up in the city.

Survivors include his father Doug Lemmer of Milwaukee, step-mother Dana Lemmer of Port Washington, siblings Ashley (Brandon) Becker of Cedar Grove, Tabitha Schaffer of Milwaukee, Brittany (Sean) Arendt of Saukville, and Brent Saunders of Port Washington. He is further survived by 7 nieces and nephews: Carson, Joseph, Walter, Merienne, Eloise, Olivia, and Oliver, grandmother Peg Husting, fishing buddies Luke, Grant, and Jake, other family and friends. Drew is preceded in death by his brother Doug "Dougie" Lemmer Jr., his mother Eunice, and his grandparents.

Andrew had an amazing impact on everyone that he met, mentored, or guided in the fishing community. He had a big heart with an even bigger personality and sense of humor. His dedication to his work and friendships was second to none. He will be greatly missed by everyone that ever went fishing with him or had the opportunity to spend time around him. There will definitely be a void in the Port Washington Marina without "Squeaky" around.

A Celebration of Drew's life will be held from 5-8PM on Friday, October 24th, at Inventors Brew Pub, 305 E. Washington St. in Port Washington.
