Obituary

Allen G. Babicky Allen Babicky of Saukville passed away suddenly on Wednesday May 14 2014 at his residence. He was 68 years old. Al was born in Milwaukee on May 12 1946 son of Walter and Lucille Schaller Babicky. Al grew up in Hubertus and graduating from Hartford Union High School in 1964. Al proudly served his country as an engineer with the US Army until 1967. He served 18 months in Germany as an atomic demolition technician. On September 25 1965 he married Diane Herlache at Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. Al worked as a shipping and receiving supervisor at Kelley Dock Systems for over 30 years. After Kelley shut down Al went back to school and earned an Associate's Degree in medical coding from MATC. Al retired from Rexnord in Grafton in 2012. On June 1 2001 he married Carol Bowen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Al's passion in life was making music. He started playing saxophone in his father's band at the age of 12 and was one of the youngest members of the Musicians Union. Later on in life he taught himself to play the guitar and had his own bands Revival and The Right Connection. His band played many venues around southeastern Wisconsin. Al also enjoyed fishing and bowling. For over 40 years he traveled to the same spot in Hayward to fish. He enjoyed carrying on this family tradition that his grandfather started and has passed it onto his children. Al is survived by his wife Carol of Saukville his mother Lucille of West Bend his three children: Carrie (Mike) Fischer of Adell Sheri (Steve) Depies of Random Lake and Tara (fianc Christopher Bowman) Babicky of Watertown. He is further survived by his step-children: Trenton Bowen Michael (Kelly) Bowen of Sussex Lisa (Kevin) Knaust of Racine and Marc Bowen of Grafton grandchildren Brandon and Josh Depies and Kaylee and Danielle Fischer step-grandchildren Cooper and Quynn Knaust and Seth Bowman his brother John (the late Linda) Babicky of Enterprise AL sister-in-law Rosie Babicky of Suring his former wife Diane Greene of Belgium his best friend Gordy nieces nephews other relatives and many many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Walter and his brother Walter Jr. Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 18th at 4 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Pastor Larry Prahl will preside. Al will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday May 18th from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
