Alice Straus Mrs. Alice Straus age 87 years of Port Washington formerly of Grafton passed away in the early afternoon of Monday September 10 2007 at Ellen's Home where she had been a resident for the last several months. Alice was born May 29 1920 in Grafton daughter of William and Anna (Sporer) Wegner. She was united in marriage with Raymond Straus on June 1 1946 at St. Joseph's Church in Grafton. They spent many years in Belgium on their farm where they raised two children Larry and Ann. In addition Alice also worked at Leeson Electric in Grafton. Raymond preceded her in death in 1987. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Alice is survived by her two children Larry (Pam) Straus of Citrus Springs FL and Ann Straus of Neenah as well as three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother Roy (Doris) Wegner of Grafton two sisters Mary Jean (Fritz) Witte and Anne Wegner both of Grafton one brother-in-law Francis Schanen of Port Washington one sister-in-law Marie Broecker of West Bend nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. Alice was preceded in death by two sisters Marjorie Karrels and Dolores Schanen. Following cremation Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Grafton. Private family services will be held.
