ALFRED H. MEYER JR. Mr. Alfred Meyer formerly of Barefoot Bay FL and Paramus NJ passed away at his residence at Lasata Crossings in Cedarburg WI on Wednesday morning May 22 2013. He was 98 years old. Alfred was born in Jersey City NJ on April 16 1915 son of Alfred H. and Catherine Reilly Meyer. Following his schooling he enlisted in the US Army serving proudly during World War II. On March 5 1941 Alfred was united in marriage with Louise Hottman in Jersey City. Mr. Meyer worked as a Claims Adjuster retiring from Harleysville Insurance in 1980. The couple moved to Florida shortly after that and settled in Barefoot Bay. They had recently moved to Wisconsin to be closer to their daughter. Alfred was a longtime member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Sebastian FL chapter. He enjoyed socializing and spending time with his family. Mr. Meyer is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Louise and their three children: Arlene (Leonard) Mentovay of Belgium WI John Jack (Jacqueline) Meyer of Paramus NY and Carol (David Bikofsky) Meyer of Needham MA. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington Friday May 24th from 12 noon until services at 1PM. Military Honors will follow.
