Alex M. Goedde Alex was a longtime Port Washington resident having lived there for 60 years. He died quietly in his sleep on Wednesday February 21 2007 at Home. He was 88. Alex was born in Fredonia son of George and Susan Mayer Goedde on November 6 1918. On April 26 1941 he married Evelyn Peiffer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Belgium. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past year. Alex served in the US Navy during WWII for 2 years and then worked as a machinist for 38 years the majority of which were at Continental Can Company. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington and Ozaukee County Memorial Post 5373 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also enjoyed dancing especially square dancing walking and meeting with a group of buddies at McDonalds. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Port Washington children; Bonnie (Ken) Brown of Port Washington Linda (Stefan) Schmitt of Eltville Germany and Rick (Lorraine) Goedde of Minneapolis MN. He is further survived by his grandson Chad (Nicole) Brown 4 step-grandchildren 4 step-great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his two brother Harold and Ray Goedde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 26 2007 at 7 PM St. Mary's Catholic Church Port Washington with Father Allan Sommer officiating. Alex will be entombed with full military honors at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Port Washington. A visitation will be held on Monday February 26th from 4-6:30 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington with a VFW walk-through at 6 PM.
