Alan John "Al" Kastelic
Alan "Al" Kastelic, a longtime resident of Cedarburg, WI passed away at home on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 82 years old.
Al was born on May 3, 1943, in West Milwaukee, WI to the late Louis and Virginia (née Wawrzon) Kastelic. He was also preceded in death by his "honorary parents" his aunt Dolores (uncle Gerald) Zimmerman (née Wawrzon) who helped raise him while his father Louis was away in the Military.
Al is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sally (née Fuys) Kastelic, whom he met in high school and married on October 9, 1965. His loving children Jeffrey (Stephanie), Craig (Naomi), Scott (Jenessa) and Joellen (Brandon) Bystol. He is further survived by his cherished grandchildren; Jake, Will and Julia Kastelic, Ashlyn, Rilynn and Grayson Kastelic, and Masen and Kennedi Bystol, his dear brother-in-law David (Carol) Fuys and sister-in-law Dana (the late Gary) Mracek.
Al was raised in West Milwaukee, WI, and graduated from West Milwaukee High School with the class of 1961. Al participated in athletics, playing football, basketball and running track. He also served as Student Council President. Al graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Finance, with the class of 1965. He was President of his fraternity, Alpha Delta Sigma. Al was devoted to helping his parents operate their tavern, Kastelic's located in West Milwaukee, WI. He also enjoyed hosting his fraternity brothers at Kastelic's Tavern for Friday night fish fries and cold beers, despite having to clean up after they left.
Al and Sally have been residents of Cedarburg, WI since 1977, where they raised their four children. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. He enjoyed coaching local youth basketball and Little League teams.
Al retired as President, CEO and co-owner of Construction Forms in Port Washington, WI, (formerly located in Cedarburg, WI), in 2013 after a 36-year career. He was a member of Rotary International and the ACPA (American Concrete Pumping Association).
Al enjoyed his residence in Scottsdale, AZ, where he and Sally wintered. He was a member of The Estancia Club and The Golf Club of Scottsdale, both located in Scottsdale, AZ.
His favorite golf courses at home in Cedarburg were Hidden Glen Golf Club and North Shore Country Club.
Al will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, golfing and his "handy man" talents. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially his back yard which he designed. He loved making homemade pasta for his family, his famous "chicken and noodles." He enjoyed the Cedarburg community, especially the 4th of July parade and marching with the Hickory Street Gang. Please toast Al with a glass of red wine and/or a brandy Manhattan and enjoy his favorite candy, a Kit Kat bar.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:30-11:30 AM at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church – North at 1375 Covered Bridge Rd, Cedarburg, WI 53012.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church – North, with a eulogy remembering Al starting at 11:50 AM. Father Matthew Ferch will preside over the Mass.
Private committal rites will be held at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Mequon, WI.
Sally and family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Al's caregivers and honorary family members JR Acutin and Nick Erracho who provided loving devoted care to Al. Many thanks to the Horizon Hospice team, Audra, Johanna and Sandra for their compassionate care of Al.
