Obituary

Mr. Alan Doehr of Grafton passed away early Tuesday morning, February 25, 2025, at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon. He was 86 years old.

Alan was born in Milwaukee on April 11, 1938, one of three sons born to Alvin and Lydia (nee Amborn) Doehr. He attended local schools and graduated from Rufus King High School, Class of 1956.

Following his schooling Alan enlisted in the US Army where he served as a Combat Photographer with the 69th Signal Company.

Mr. Doehr had been employed at AO Smith as a materials handler for over 25 years. He loved cars and photography, but had a passion for his land in Grafton and being outside. He always had a project that he could be found tinkering with. Alan also found enjoyment in gardening and took exceptional care of his roses.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother Dennis (Mary Lou) Doehr of Wauwatosa, nephew Daniel Doehr, niece Denise Hodkiewicz and her children Diana and Bella, other family and friends. Alan is preceded in death by his parents Alvin & Lydia, and brother Gaylan.

Alan will be laid to rest beside his family at Valhalla Memorial Park in Milwaukee, with Military Honors.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alan's good friends Ben and Matt, and the staff at Lawlis Hospice, for their care and attention to Alan in his last years.

The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements; online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
