Alan Michael Bruhn of Fredonia passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the age of 79. He was born in Milwaukee to Elmer and Virginia (Riese) Bruhn on March 10, 1943. He married Gloria McIntosh on April 23, 1966 and together they had five children.
Alan attended Salvatorian Seminary and graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Army National Guard. Alan retired from Ameritech (Wisconsin Bell) after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member and former Commander of the Warren Kane American Legion Post 410, Fredonia, and the Forty and Eight veteran's organization. As an extremely dedicated member of the community, he served on multiple boards and departments including the Fredonia Lions Club, the Northern Ozaukee School Board, and as an officer of the Fredonia Fire Department.
His PASSION was racing! Many nights were spent in a garage or at the racetrack, working on a pit crew or cheering on his favorite driver. He was involved with anything from super modified, sprint cars, late models, and Busch cars. The entire family participated, and some still do.
Alan is survived by his devoted wife Gloria, his children, David (Marlene), Judy, Kathy (Kevin) Braby, Michael, and Daniel (Hannelore); grandchildren Austin, Nathanael, and Gabriel; siblings Gary (Betty), Richard (Mardell), Mary Kay Kempf, and Laurie (Doug) Grade. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Patricia McKinnon, Carol Curfman, and Eileen Seidner.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, September 8th at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave, Port Washington, WI 53074. The family will receive guests at the funeral home during this time.
