Adolph ldquo;Aderdquo; Hansen Mr. Adolph ldquo;Aderdquo; Hansen of West Bend formerly of Mequon passed away Sunday November 14 2010 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend after a 3 year battle with Leukemia. He was 81 years old. Adolph was born November 4 1929 in Mequon the son of Adolph and Clara Ewert Hansen. He graduated from Cedarburg High School and went on to attend Ripon College where he is in the Athletic Hall of Fame. During this time he enjoyed playing football wrestling and racing stockcars. Upon graduation he was invited to try out for several NFL teams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army at Fort Benning in Georgia shortly after the Korean Conflict. Upon returning he took over the family business started by his father Hansen Overhead Door. He continued working with the business until recently. nbsp;On November 12 1955 he was united in marriage with Donna Zwickey in Cedarburg. She preceded him in death in 1982. Adolph was a founding member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Port Washington. His dedicated mission was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a dog lover who enjoyed all sports landscaping at church and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Adolph is survived by 3 children: Jim (Geri) Hansen of Cudahy Steve (Mirna) Hansen of Concord CA and Ann (Gary) Conley of West Bend. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren: David Michelle Nikki Paul (Jennifer) Lauren (Dan) Jessica and Melissa (Jamie) 1 great-granddaughter Madalyn former daughter-in-law Patty Joslin of Port Washington brother Ray Hansen (Joy) of Waupaca sister Ruth Solchenberger of Mequon nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna and son Bruce. Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Thursday November 18 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church 1525 N. Grant St. in Port Washington. He will be laid to rest at Trinity South Mequon. The family will receive visitors at St Matthew on Thursday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Matthew or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
