Adele McGrath (nee Tarantino), of Mequon, passed away at Teal Shores Senior Living in the early hours of December 10th. She was 77 years old.

Adele was born on March 30th of 1946 in Palermo, Sicily to Salvatore and Anna (Alioto) Tarantino. She immigrated to the United States in July of 1956 and settled in Milwaukee with her extended family. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965.

She was primarily a homemaker and a loving, devoted wife to Frank McGrath II for over 33 years, to whom she was married on February 17th, 1968. Over the years, she held many different jobs and enjoyed all the varied challenges they provided, from selling furniture and home goods at the long-ago Bombay Company, to her local Piggly Wiggly and Walgreens stores. Adele enjoyed painting and taking art classes at local art studios and spent many hours creating new images. One of her greatest joys in life was returning to her beloved Italy several times over the years and pursuing her family's genealogy. Later in life, she was blessed with three adored grandchildren who she relished spending time with and cherished all of her opportunities watching them grow. She was a parishioner of Lumen Christi Church in Mequon until she could no longer physically attend.

Adele will be remembered by those she loved and those that loved her; there are so many to name and acknowledge. She is survived by daughter Kelly Ann (Greg) Baxter and grandsons Colton Baxter and Grayson Baxter, Cedarburg, WI; son Frank (Bridget) McGrath III, and granddaughter, Maggie McGrath, Los Angeles CA; her sister Marie (John) Carini, her daughters Benedetta Carini, Anna (Jon) Purdy, Giovanna Angela (Donato) Asciutto, and Maria Adele Carini; brother Peter (Joanne) Tarantino, his daughter Nicki Tarantino; brother Gaetano Tarantino, his daughter Angelique (Rob) Dysland and son Thomas Tarantino; and Vincenzo (Nancy) Tarantino and his daughter Lisa Tarantino Marchese, son Vince (Amanda) Tarantino, Jr., son Michael (Katrina) Tarantino, daughter Julie (Matt) Sura, and daughter Tiffany (Jason) Herzer. She is further survived by brother-in-law Douglas (Cathy) McGrath, his daughter Erin (Josh) Sulman and son Jeremy McGrath; brother-in-law David (Guida) McGrath, his daughter Katie (Lorenzo) Miceli, son Tony (Deb) McGrath and son Max (Jen) McGrath; brother-in-law Alan McGrath; sister-in-law Mary (Wayne) Gunther and her sons Patrick Gunther and Robert (Rhiannon) Gunther; brother-in-law Brian (Beth) McGrath and his daughters Kristin (Jeff) DeSouza and Maureen McGrath and brother-in-law Larry Haslee and his daughters Carly (William) Ritt and Allison (Patrick) Reardon. She is survived by her caring sister-in-law Chris McGrath and childhood friends Kathy Emanuel, Angela Mathisen, Fran Romans, Gloria Rosenberg, Mary Grace Spera, Susan Steinke and Marilynn Wood.

She is preceded in death by her treasured husband Frank McGrath II, parents Salvatore and Anna Tarantino, sister Vincenza Tarantino, brother-in-law Kelly James McGrath, sister-in-law Rosemary McGrath, nephews Kelly Andrew McGrath, Kevin Haslee and Miles Tarantino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1PM on Thursday, December 21st at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Father Patrick Burns will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 11AM until Mass begins at 1PM. Adell will be laid to rest beside her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon following the service.
