Obituary for Rose E. "Rosie" Regnitz

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Rose E. “Rosie” Regnitz, of Cedarburg, announce her peaceful passing on Saturday November 24, 2018, at the age of 90.

Rose was born on October 5, 1928 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Stephan and Elizabeth (Nee Skali) Mesarich. She was the beloved wife of Hugo C. Regnitz; married August 21, 1948 at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Together, they opened, owned, and operated Hugo & Rosie’s Inn and the Cork‘n Bottle Liquor Store in Cedarburg from 1963 through 1981. She avidly participated in many classes offered by the Community Center, honing her fine talent as an award-winning ceramics artist, cross-stitcher, and teddy bear crafter.

Rosie volunteered to serve her community through numerous organizations, including Faith Lutheran Church, The American Legion Auxiliary – (Rosie was recently honored for her 65+ years of service), the Cedarburg Women’s Club, and the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Rosie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tim (Barb) of Valparaiso, IN, Bruce (Chris) of Chandler, AZ, Tami Regnitz, Toni Larvick, Todd (Kristi) of Ringgold, GA, and Heidi Regnitz (Scott Minarovic) of Bonduel, WI. Rosie will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Brent (Miranda) Regnitz, Erica Bergin, Jennifer Hess, Matthew Larvick (David Garcia), Jake (Claire) Regnitz, Andrew (Danica) Bergin, Tricia Regnitz, Daniel (Christine) Regnitz, and Elizabeth Regnitz. Further survived by great-grandchildren Emma Rose and Olivia Regnitz, Tegan Rose and Beckett Bergin, along with nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many wonderful friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday November 30th at Faith Lutheran Church, N35 W6621 Wilson St, Cedarburg, WI 53012.
