Marguerite "Marge" H. Bohlen (nee Thelen), passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Lasata Care Center. She was 95 years old. She was born on May 20, 1921 to Peter and Katherine (nee Schreiner) Thelen. Marge and her husband Eugene were united in marriage at St. Joseph Parish in Grafton on November 27, 1947.
Marge and Eugene resided in Milwaukee for many years before moving to Ozaukee County. She worked as a waitress at Marshall Fields Linden Room for 31 years before retiring at age 67. Marge and her husband Eugene were the operators of "The Top of the Town" tavern in Cedarburg from 1953 to 1956. Marge was very active with many organizations which included China Burma India, VA Auxiliary (50 years), Ozaukee Post County Memorial, VFW Auxiliary Post 5373, American Legion Auxiliary - Cedarburg branch, Grafton Red Hat Society, Cedarburg Women's Club and the Rake and Hoe Garden Club. She enjoyed volunteering for the VFW fish fry, marching in parades and socializing with those in attendance.
Marge is survived by her brothers-in-law Melvin Krick, Skip Eernisse, John (Sharon) Bohlen sisters-in-law Laura Thelen, Rosie (Herb) Kuehne, Lucy (Joe) Mortl, Carrie Bohlen numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ralph Thelen, sisters Lorraine Krick and Marcie Eernisse, brothers-in-law Roman (Phyllis) Peters, Joe Bohlen, sister-in-law Cathy (Clarence Verhaalen and John Touche).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Parish (1619 Washington Street Grafton, 53024) . Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Father Justin Lopina will preside. Marge will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Grafton following the Mass. Reception in the church gathering hall following the burial.
