Obituary

Elmer L. Wagner of Port Washington, WI was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 91. Elmer was born April 26, 1931 in Chilton, WI and was united in marriage to Mary Lou Drnek in Chilton, WI on October 14, 1961; they were married 61 years and had four children.

Elmer served in the US Army 40th Infantry Division as a sergeant during the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, two Overseas Service Bars and the United Nations Service Medal. After returning from Korea, Elmer worked in the insurance industry for many years until health issues forced him into early retirement. Elmer became a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder when the new City Stadium was opened in 1957 (later renamed Lambeau Field); those season tickets still remain in the family. In 2014, Elmer enjoyed visiting Washington DC as part of the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight program. Elmer took great pride in his home and having everything just so; he also enjoyed traveling the US with his campers and motorhome and dreamed of someday moving to Montana.

Elmer is survived by his brother Benjamin (Green Bay, WI), children Mike (Mary) Wagner (Grafton, WI), Tom (Teri) Wagner (Surprise, AZ), Rich Wagner (Hudson, WI), Dave (Dawn) Wagner (Saukville, WI); grandchildren Emma, Evan, Ezra, Katie, Taylor, Austin, Madeline, Owen, Trent, Madison and great grandchildren Trey & Ellie.

Elmer was preceded in death by his infant sister Christina, his parents Norbert and Agatha, and his wife Mary Lou.
