Raymond F. Yankunas

Mr. Raymond Yankunas, age 83 of Saukville, passed away in the morning hours of Thursday, March 11, 2010 at VITAS Innovative Care Center in Wawautosa.  Ray was born in Port Washington on February 10, 1927, son of Stanley Yankunas and Bernice Visockis Yankunas.  On December 27, 1976 he married Caroline “Carrie” Matushinec.  He served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII.  Mr. Yankunas worked as a supervisor at Grob Inc until his retirement in 1999.  Mr. Yankunas was a member of the American Legion Post 470 in Saukville.  He enjoyed tending to his beautiful garden, socializing with friends, watching the Green Bay Packers, hunting and fishing.  He is survived by his wife Carrie of Saukville, his 5 children Donna (Rev. Robert) Braband of Lombard, IL, Sharon Yankunas of Fredonia, Douglas (Marcia) Yankunas of Pleasant Prairie, David (the late Gwenn) Yankunas of Fredonia, and Stacy (Anthony) Schommer of Grafton.  He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, step-son Scott (Kathryn) Ringhand of Caledonia, IL, sister-in-law and Marion Yankunas of Oklahoma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Felix and Stanley Yankunas.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at 6:30 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington with Rev.
