Name: Bernice Burmesch Dates: Birth date: January 23, 1926 Death date: November 24, 2009 Obituary: Bernice M. Gasser-Burmesch Mrs. Bernice M. Gasser-Burmesch, age 83 years of the Town of Belgium, passed away in the morning hours of Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. She was born in Port Washington, daughter of Matt and Celia Gross Kultgen. Bernice worked at the Port Washington Chair Factory as an upholsterer before marrying Max Gasser on September 22, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Max preceded her in death in 1989. On March 28, 1998 she married Eugene Burmesch at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. Bernice was a member of St. Mary Parish in Lake Church. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She is survived by her husband Eugene of Cascade, her children; Deborah (Wayne) DeBlaey of Oostburg, Deanna (the late Pete) Ramirez of Cedar Grove, Daniel (Lucy) Gasser of Belgium, and Carmen Pupp (Dan Geib) of Belgium. She is further survived by 3 brothers, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Max, her son David Gasser, 3 grandchildren and her son-in-law Pete Ramirez. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 2 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave, Belgium with Father Jim Ernster officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church. Visitation will take place on the 28th from 12-2 PM at the Funeral Home.
