ARNOLD W. DEPIES "ARNIE"
Mr. Arnold Depies, of rural Random Lake, passed away peacefully at Sunny Ridge Health Care Center in Sheboygan on Friday, September 20, 2013. He was 79 years old. Arnold was born on the family farm in the Town of Fredonia on August 30, 1934, son of George and Mary Leider Depies. He attended local schools and was a proud graduate of "Dacada U", later graduating from Random Lake High School with the Class of 1953. Arnie proudly served his country in the US Navy before he was united in marriage with Carol Mueller. The couple was wed at Holy Cross Catholic Church on November 12, 1960. Shortly thereafter, they settled on the family farm. Mr. Depies was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Nicholas Chapel. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, frequently attending sporting events to cheer them on. Arnie had a great sense of humor and an easy-going demeanor that everyone loved. He enjoyed a good game of sheepshead, listening to polka music, going out to dinner and socializing. He and Carol often traveled with friends and family and had many trips to Branson, MO, Florida and Arizona. Arnold is survived by his wife, Carol, and their five children: Bonnie (Kurt) Neumann, James (Vicki) Depies, Steven (Sheri) Depies, all of Random Lake, Alan (Debra) Depies of Grafton and Brian (Deanna) Depies of Germantown. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Calli, Tom and Garrett Neumann, Jeremy, Jenna, Brandon, Josh, Ty Anna, Gaven, Payton and Carson Depies. Further survivors include 2 sisters: Valeria Bittner of Port Washington and Rita (Michael) Hubacek of Plymouth, brother Wilmer Depies of Random Lake, and sisters-in-law Joan Depies of Fredonia and Audrey Blaubach of Random Lake, brothers-in-law Wilfred Heinen of Port Washington, Merlin (Mary) Mueller of Port Washington and Dan Mueller of Clintonville. He is also preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerome, sister Ursula Heinen, brothers-in-law Donald Bittner, Gerald Mueller, Kenneth Wetor and Wallace Blaubach, and sister-in-law Jean Depies. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, September 24th at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. He will be laid to rest the following morning with Military Honors at St. Nicholas Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 3-6:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to Random Lake Ambulance, Random Lake Booster Club or Our Lady of the Lakes Youth Ministry. The Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Cedar Grove Gardens II, St. Nicholas Hospital, Sunny Ridge, Serenity Hospice Care and all of the special caregivers he had at home throughout the years.
