Martha C. Bolz
Martha Bolz, a life-long resident of the Town of Port Washington, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was 88 years old.
Martha was a loving wife of Jerome F. Bolz for 67 years. She was a devoted mother and was happiest when she was surrounded by family.
She was born on December 4, 1924, daughter of Peter and Caroline Kleckner. Martha attended school at a one-room school house in Knellsville and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1942. On November 22, 1945, she married Jerome Bolz at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington.
Martha was an active member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church and volunteered much of her time for the beauty and upkeep of the church altar--including watering flowers, washing vestments, and cleaning the church. She had a special secret for cleaning the linens. She was extremely proud of being selected as the 2003 Parishioner of the Year. Martha loved spending time with family and was a great cook and enjoyed making cookies. During family card club sessions, she brought a touch of humor with her witty one-liners.
Her husband Jerome remembers all the wonderful polka/square dancing weekends they spent together with all the life-long friends they met along the way. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening, and she took special pride in her flower beds.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, Jerome of Port Washington, three sons: Gary (Mary Sue) of Port Washington, Danny (Sharon) of Random Lake, Ron (Joanne) of Port Washington. Three daughters: Bev Bolz of Belgium, Carolyn (Reed Wykhuis) Bolz of Oostburg and Cathy (Mark) Schowalter of Port Washington. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren: Bryan (Wendy) Bolz, Michelle (Kyle) Clavette, Tim, Tami, Kimberley, and Kristi Bolz, Peter and Joe Wykhuis, Jacob and Mikayla Schowalter, Rebecca, Ryan, and Natasha Bolz, and three great-grandchildren: Madelayne, Ellaoise, and Audric Clavette, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother Arnold Kleckner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 26th at 6:00 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St. in Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will officiate. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Mausoleum in Port Washington. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 26th from 3-6 PM, at the CHURCH with a Rosary service starting at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for beautification and maintenance of the family-adopted church courtyard in honor of her loyal dedication to St. Peter of Alcantara.
